Adorama News Desk covers latest news from CES

Did you know Adorama has a daily-updated News Desk that provides the latest photo industry news?

This week I'm working overtime covering the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which is taking place now at the Las Vegas, Nevada Convention Center. Visit the News Desk now and you'll find dozens of stories about the latest new digital cameras and camcorders.

The big trends so far: HD Video recording is now a standard feature in compact digital cameras, and more models are showing up with touch-screen control. A less-welcome trend is the growing number cameras with really small 14MP I've written many times, cameras with that much pixel density actually lose overall image quality, and 14MP is overkill if your goal is to make 4x6-inch prints.

The biggest news of the show so far is the Samsung NX-10, the first compact interchangeable-lens camera with an APS sensor. It's the first, but I'm certain it won't be the last. Read all about it!

With thanks to Mason Resnick, our editor at the Adorama Learning Center for this hot news from Las Vegas!
