"Adorama Camera, where is my Nikon D800 / D800E / D4?"

I wish I could tell you........if you have an outstanding order for one of the hottest new Nikon releases in a long time, ie the Nikon D800/D800E or the D4, unless you placed your order with minutes of pre-ordering becoming available, or you were lucky enough to pick one up on the 2nd owner market, you may be feeling very frustrated right now. If you placed your order with Adorama Camera, thank you; we do appreciate your loyalty and faith in us - which is why we feel so badly that we have only been able to fulfil a small number of those pre-orders so far. As you know, these models are currently highly-sought after, and demand has outstripped supply worldwide. Nikon has sent us a very limited initial quantity of units, and those have already been shipped out to customers who ordered as soon as pre-ordering began. We are as keen to ship your unit to you as you are to receive it, however, so far Nikon have not been able to give us any firm date that we can expect the rest of your orders to be fulfilled. Therefore at this time we can only apologize most sincerely and promise you that once we receive further deliveries, we will be shipping them out same day in strict order of receipt. We would like to assure you that we don’t charge your credit card until the order ships; any hold you might see on your card for a minimal amount is just an authorization which will drop off after a couple of days. Many customers have been contacting us requesting information about how many units we have on order, how many we have on hold - or where the customer is on the waiting list. While we appreciate the frustration and disappointment this is causing, unfortunately this information cannot be disclosed at this time. We deeply regret the inconvenience this delay is causing to you and to all our other customers, and we are grateful for your patience and understanding that these delays are out of our control.
