If you wander through Israel’s fields in spring, keep an eye out for this delicate flower, also known as Erodium. Its Hebrew name, Makór Hasidá, comes from the shape of its long, pointed seed pods, which look just like a stork’s bill! 🐦
This little flower can be found all across Israel, from the coastal plains & Mediterranean woodlands to the edges of the desert. It’s a true survivor, thriving even in rocky, dry soils.
Look closely and you’ll see tiny pinky-purple blooms with darker markings, almost like embroidery. As the seeds ripen, the “stork’s beak” twists & curls, helping them travel on the wind - a beautiful example of nature’s ingenuity. 🌱
