Meet The Palestinian Viper

One of the most iconic reptiles of the region. Native to Israel & its neighbours, the Palestinian viper (Daboia palaestinae) is highly venomous, but plays a vital role in keeping rodent populations in check.

With its striking zigzag pattern & silent, stealthy moves, it’s both feared & fascinating. Though bites can be serious, this beautiful snake usually avoids people unless provoked.

Respect from a distance = peaceful coexistence.
