🦋 The Silver-washed Fritillary (Argynnis paphia), one of Israel’s largest & most striking native butterflies.

🌿 It's found mainly in northern & central Israel, particularly in oak & pine wooded areas of the Galilee, Carmel & Golan, where shade-loving species thrive & wild habitats are preserved.

Its golden-orange wings are patterned with black spots above, while the undersides shimmer with silvery streaks - the feature that gives it its name.
