In 1935 James Armand de Rothschild saw a demand for beer among those living in British mandate Palestine & founded the Palestine Brewery in Rishon LeZion   In 1940 the AACI (Association of Americans Australians & Canadians in Israel) commissioned the brewery to supply beer to Australian troops & by 1942 the brewery enlarged its plant to meet increased demand!
